I loved Andy Jones’s stylish portrayal of four people who make way too much history in one night, and just couldn’t put it down until I found out the fate of each of them’ Catherine Isaac’I’m always wary about comparing books but, just this once, I’m going to make an exception because for me this is one of those few novels that deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as One Day.
The books are so long!
Yet, I still like it in a way iean it sets up the conclusion of her series. Some fear Ayla’s unfamiliar ways and her relationship with the Clan, openly etone her union with Jondalar. And in the woman Zelandoni, the spiritual leader of the Ninth Cave and the one who initiated Jondalar into the Gift of Pleasureshe meets a fellow healer with whom to share her knowledge and skills.
Jondalar finally returns home to the Zelandonii, with Ayla at his side.
Marona on the other hand is given an extremely ugly personality, and just as Zolena is made fat and Joplaya locked into sheltfrs miserable union, Auel condemns Marona to infertility.

Some fear Ayla’s unfamiliar ways and abhor her relationship with those they call flatheads and she calls Clan. Marthona, Jondalar’s mother, accepts Ayla with barely a second thought. I think that that is part of what Ayla faces.

The Valley of Horses Jean M. It is an insult to call the other characters “characters”. When Ayla asks what does this cave drawing mean, the head witch-doctor replies, ‘what do you think it means? Their clothes, customs, artifacts, even their homes formed in great cliffs of uean limestone are a source of wonder to her. No one does things that others wouldn’t approve of, and everyone just tries to fit in.
Ayla is introduced to his family and friends and as she gets to know them they love her as much as every other soul on the planet does. The only thing that saves it akel the ability to skip rapidly forward every time the author gets into the stuff repeated from previous novels or even through previous sections of this book.
I am more than mid-way through the book and have not seen much snelters a plot yet Ayla and Jondalar have reached home: Log In Members Login.
