I realize this is a highly regarded book of poetry by a known writer from Portugal. Alot, not all, says a whole lot about nothing, rambling on, pessla itself and droning on in it’s repetitions. It’s a book I find really interesting and am glad to know about and have on my shelf.
I love it because I hate it.

I think of Salinger in that degree, who began to feel strongly that being published was an unwelcome intrusion and distraction imposed upon the work itself.

I just tend to find books centered around their writing falling into one dewasosiego two categories. Siendo una persona que considera tener un alma desasosegada, creo que tiene demasiado. For every bit of creative prose or philosophical insight, there’s reams and reams of repetitive anggggst.
I got half way through this, and really ground to a halt.
I doubt I will remember much because there basically is no structured story which wou I enjoyed some elements of the poetry but overall it was not as cohesive as I would have liked. End of update I’ve bought my copy at last. Maybe, someday, they’ll fix that. It’s not all bad, there are some ideas and striking sentences. Thoughts, observations, ramblings about this and that. End of update Update November 14th I’ve decided to carry on reading this, but small sections at a time.
Yet, instead of using the characters actively to write the assorted verse and prose which he assigned to them, he regarded himself more as an instrument who channeled the personalities, of which he had no control, until the works were finished.
Forced to choose between reading Chateubriand or Vieira, I would choose Vieira without a moment’s hesitation. Rather than finding myself chuckling at the author’s skewed view of self, I found myself more or less bored to the point of anger by the tedium of it all.
